UGPSOC is specifically designed to train military, police, and civilian personnel in integrating gender perspectives into Peace Support Operations (PSO). This inclusion has proven essential for enhancing operational effectiveness.
During the course closing ceremony, PSOTC Commandant Lieutenant Colonel Damir Alibasic emphasised the contributions of instructors and subject matter experts from various organizations and institutions, including the Nordic Centre for Gender in Military Operations (NCGM), the International Military Operations Centre (IMOC), the United Nations Office on Drugs and Crime (UNODC), the Border Police of Bosnia and Herzegovina, EUFOR, and AF BIH. Their expertise provided valuable insights that enriched participants' understanding of gender perspectives in peace support operations.
The successful completion of this course highlights PSOTC's and the Armed Forces of Bosnia and Herzegovina's steadfast commitment to integrating gender perspectives into international peace support initiatives and enhancing the global capacity to address security challenges with inclusivity and effectiveness.
The Peace Support Operations Training Center (PSOTC) continues to serve as a regional and international hub for professional development in peace support and security sector reform, fostering connections among nations through training and education.
