The UN Tactical Protection of Civilians Course started today, 19th September 2016 at PSOTC.

The course is going to be conducted from 19th to 23th September 2016 with participation of 24 students from different countries. The aim of the course is to familiarize participants deploying on UN PKO with the importance of Protection of Civilians (POC) for mission, increase awareness and provide a conceptual understanding of how to integrate other agencies’ efforts regarding POC and Prevention of Sexual Violence (PSV). Students on the UN Tactical Protection of Civilians Course are coming from: BiH, Albania, Austria, Bulgaria, Georgia, Macedonia, Turkey, UK and Northern Ireland, and Ukraine. The PSOTC Chief of Staff, LtC Zoran Batarilo, addressed participants on the opening ceremony. He emphasized importance of each individual course and in particular the importance of integration different mission components during the training process, well before their deployments. The ceremony was graced with presence of military attaché of the Republic of Austria Colonel Michael dr. Pesendorfer and UK military attaché Lieutenant Colonel Paul Marshall.
