The Peace Support Operations Training Centre (PSOTC) of the Armed Forces of Bosnia and Herzegovina (AF BIH) successfully completed the UN Staff Officers Course (UNSOC), a three-week intensive training programme designed to prepare military professionals for staff roles in United Nations peace operations.

This year’s course brought together 17 participants from Bosnia and Herzegovina and six partner nations, reflecting the spirit of international cooperation and shared commitment to global peace and security.

The course was delivered with the support of instructors from four respected international partner education and training institutions: SWEDINT (Sweden), HDF MTC (Hungary), IMOC (Croatia), and NLD SPO (Netherlands), as well as lecturers from AF BIH. Their combined expertise fostered a dynamic and collaborative learning environment, enabling participants to engage in realistic operational planning exercises and scenario-based training aligned with UN standards.

During the closing ceremony, Colonel Damir Alibašić, Commandant of PSOTC, addressed the participants and distinguished guests. In his speech, he emphasised the strategic importance of international cooperation in peacekeeping missions, the evolving role of staff officers in complex UN peace operations, and the value of integrated planning in multinational environments. Colonel Alibašić commended the participants for their dedication and professionalism, noting that their contributions will strengthen future UN missions and foster peace in conflict-affected regions.

The UNSOC at PSOTC continues to serve as a crucial platform for developing global partnerships, improving interoperability, and preparing future peacekeepers to effectively support UN mandates. The course demonstrates PSOTC’s and AF BIH's ongoing dedication to excellence in international peace support training.
