The Peace Support Operations Training Centre (PSOTC) of the Armed Forces of Bosnia and Herzegovina, in close cooperation with the Ministry of Security of Bosnia and Herzegovina, proudly concluded the two-week United Nations Police Officers Course (UNPOC) with a formal closing ceremony held on 10 October 2025. The event marked the successful completion of an intensive training programme designed to prepare police officers for deployment in complex UN peacekeeping environments.

Addressing the participants, PSOTC Commandant, Colonel Damir Alibasic, praised the students for their professionalism and dedication: “Course students, congratulations on successfully completing this demanding and important training. Your commitment, professionalism, and active engagement throughout the course have been truly commendable.”

The UNPOC provided participants with a comprehensive understanding of UN policing principles, mission mandates, and integrated approaches to peace operations. Key topics included: Community-oriented policing in post-conflict environments; Coordination with military and civilian components; Human rights protection and gender-sensitive approaches; and Legal and political frameworks guiding UN police mandates.

The course was enhanced by contributions from guest instructors from Germany, Montenegro, Slovakia, Slovenia, and Sweden, as well as experts from Bosnia and Herzegovina police agencies, EUFOR, and the Armed Forces of Bosnia and Herzegovina. Their expertise offered course participants diverse perspectives and practical insights.

By delivering the United Nations Police Officers Course, PSOTC reaffirms its commitment to strengthening global peace operations. Through top-quality training and international collaboration, we equip police officers with the knowledge and skills needed to uphold the rule of law, defend human rights, and contribute to lasting peace and security worldwide.
