The Global Peace Operations Initiative (GPOI) representatives visited PSOTC

The Global Peace Operations Initiative (GPOI) representatives, Ann Stieglitz, Program manager GPOI/EUCOM from US Department of State, accompanied by the ODC Chief, LtC Jakub Andrews, and ODC Finance Menager, Mr. Vanja Šantić visited PSOTC.

The guests were welcomed by the PSOTC Commandant, Colonel Dr. Jasmin Čajić, during their visit, the guests were briefed about PSOTC history, its activities and achievements and future plans emphasizing the partnership with the Global Peace Operations Initiative (GPOI) in sphere of training and education. The Global Peace Operations Initiative is a U.S. Government-funded security assistance program intended to enhance international capacity to effectively conduct United Nations and regional peace support operations (PSOs) by building partner country capabilities to train and sustain peacekeeping proficiencies; increasing the number of capable military troops and formed police units (FPUs) available for deployment; and facilitating the preparation, logistical support, and deployment of military units and FPUs to PSOs. As part of their program, GPOI has supported PSOTC in its mission and their intention is to continue to provide a support in the future. At the end of the visit, the guests had an opportunity to see the facilities and training capacities which are at the Centre’s disposal.
