Many of the speakers highlighted the importance of addressing the issue and ending the culture of impunity that has allowed it to continue. The pioneering role being played by the PSOTC in the Region in developing training courses to counter Gender-Based Violence (GBV) received considerable praise and promises of future support. Close cooperation is underway with the UK Stabilisation Unit to identify subject matter experts who can assist with the design and delivery of Prevention of Sexual Violence training modules. Assisted by the UK, it is hoped that these experts can visit the PSOTC within the next few weeks to provide assistance in delivering a pilot training course in early June 2014. Additional assistance will be given with further visits over the next two years. It is planned to produce PSV training course material in local languages by the end of 2014 and offer PSV training at the PSOTC and across the region using mobile training teams from 2015 onwards.
