The second module of the Regional Strategic Leadership Course (RSLC) was successfully held from 22 to 26 September in Sarajevo, bringing together senior representatives from the Western Balkans to tackle strategic crisis management challenges in a dynamic and collaborative setting.

Organised by the Austrian National Defence Academy with support from the Peace Support Operations Training Centre (PSOTC) of the Armed Forces of Bosnia and Herzegovina, the module brought together 20 participants from Austria, Bosnia and Herzegovina, Montenegro, North Macedonia, and Serbia.

The module was officially opened by Aleksandar Goganović, Deputy Minister for Resource Management at the Ministry of Defence of Bosnia and Herzegovina. In his speech, Goganović emphasised the importance of regional cooperation and strategic preparedness. His address set the tone for a week of intensive dialogue and scenario-based learning, underscoring Bosnia and Herzegovina’s active role in fostering regional resilience.

The course director, Dr Wolfgang Baumann from the Austrian National Defence Academy, played a pivotal role in shaping the academic and operational framework of the module. His leadership and expertise ensured that the course maintained its high standards of strategic relevance and practical applicability. His guidance was instrumental in facilitating cross-sectoral discussions and promoting innovative approaches to crisis leadership.

This course demonstrates a sustained dedication to regional peace and security.
