On 19 July 2013, Peace Support Operations Training Centre (PSOTC) held a Closing Ceremony of International PSO Staff Officer Course (IPSOSOC) and officially marked the membership of the Republic of Albania in partnership with Peace Support Operations Training Centre.
The ceremony of acceptance of the Republic of Albania to partnership with PSOTC is a continuous development of the Centre and confirmation of PSOTC as a regional leader in training for peace support operations. The Ceremony was graced by his presence H.E. Flamur Gashi, Ambassador of the Republic of Albania in Bosnia and Herzegovina.
International PSO Staff Officer Course started on 17 June 2013. The course was attended by 21 student from which 16 were members of the AF BiH and 5 students from Croatia, Albania, Montenegro, Serbia and France. The aim of this Course was to shape and improve basic skills, in accordance with NATO and UN standards and procedures, of those officers intended to serve at a multinational battalion/brigade HQ in future UN/NATO PSO missions.
Guests were addressed by the PSOTC Commandant, Colonel Jasmin Čajić who congratulated the to the students and highlighted the importance of conducting the training at the regional level. Colonel Čajić also took this opportunity to welcome the membership of the Republic of Albania as a new full flagged PSOTC partner and thanked the authorities and H.E. Ambassador for unreserved support.
In his speech, H.E. Flamur Gashi, Ambassador of the Republic of Albania to Bosnia and Herzegovina said that it was a great honor for the Republic of Albania to become a partner of PSOTC which is a regional leader in training for PSO in the Western Balkan Region.
