PSOTC hosted 1st Balkans Training Centres Commandants’ Conference

PSOTC/AF Bosnia and Herzegovina had a privilege to host the first Balkans Training Centres Commandants’ Conference (BTEC CC) from 3rd to 5th March 2015.

Initially launched in 2014, based on the Joint Statement of B9 CHODs (signed at 8th Conference in 2014), Balkans Training Centres Commandants’ Conference (BTEC CC), were formally established within B9 Forum. In regard with that, representative of B9 Forum, Bulgaria, Greece, Romania, Macedonia, Montenegro, Serbia, Turkey, and Bosnia and Herzegovina gathered in Sarajevo to discuss BTECs Education and Training opportunities and landscape. The main goal of BTECs is to provide high quality education and training in line with international educational standards and to achieve enhanced interoperability for current and future operations as well as to avoid duplication of the efforts in the area of education and training. During the Conference, the BTEC Commandants agreed on draft Terms of Reference for the BTEC CC as well as discussed bilateral cooperation plans. At the end, Turkish PfP Training Centre expressed its willingness host the next BTEC CC in 2016.
