PSOTC Concludes ESNCOSC, Strengthening Multinational Interoperability

The Essential Staff Non-Commissioned Officers Skills Course (ESNCOSC) concluded today, 27 February 2026, with a formal closing ceremony at the Peace Support Operations Training Centre (PSOTC) of the Armed Forces of Bosnia and Herzegovina.

Designed to enhance the competencies of Non-Commissioned Officers (NCOs), the course focused on staff duties at the tactical level within national and international headquarters, fully aligned with NATO standards. Conducted from 16 to 27 February 2026, ESNCOSC brought together 19 participants representing 11 countries. The training was delivered by experienced instructors from PSOTC and the Hungarian Defence Forces Military Training Centre, supported by external national and international lecturers.

During the closing ceremony, the PSOTC Commandant, Colonel Damir Alibašić, expressed confidence that the course provided participants with the essential knowledge required for effective performance in tactical headquarters, highlighting the importance of interoperability in contemporary military operations. He commended the participants' diverse professional backgrounds, noting that their varied experiences significantly enriched the learning environment. Colonel Alibašić also extended his gratitude to all contributors for their support and cooperation, underscoring the continuing importance of professional networking among course members.

In his remarks, NATO Headquarters Sarajevo Command Sergeant Major Todd Gagnon stressed the significance of continuous professional development for non‑commissioned officers and their vital role as leaders in transferring knowledge and skills to their subordinates. He further noted that courses of this nature are crucial in preparing NCOs to operate effectively in multinational environments aligned with NATO standards.

The successful completion of this course marks a significant step towards stronger cooperation and shared expertise between AF BIH and partner nations' armed forces. PSOTC remains committed to delivering high-quality individual military training and education, continuing to play an essential role in the professional development of military personnel.
