The Media Management in Peace Support Operations Course was conducted from 9th to 13th March 2015 at the Peace Support Operations Training Centre (PSOTC).

The aim of the course was to introduce students to
the constant presence of the media and to enable them to incorporate media into
military planning processes. The course is accredited by the Faculty of
Political Science, University of Sarajevo, in accordance with the Bologna
process with 6 ETCS as an elective subject in the first year of postgraduate
studies of Journalism and Communications, and it is certificated as a part of
UN COTIPSO. The aim of the Course was to offer participants an elective module
that discusses the theoretical foundations of the factors affecting media
involvement in Peace Support Operations. The primary goal was to improve the
communication skills of the participants and build their confidence when giving
statements/interviews to the media. The course was attended by 18 students in
total; 4 international students (Serbia, Macedonia, and Turkey), 3 students
from AF BiH, 1 from Ministry of Security and 10 from BiH universities (Faculty
of Political Science from Sarajevo, Faculty of Philosophy from Pale, and Faculty
of Philosophy from Mostar). Distinguished guests on the course closing ceremony
were Atlantic Initiative representative,Doc. Dr. Sead Turčalo,
Prof. Dr. Izet Beridan and Doc. Dr. Mirza Smajić from Faculty of Political
Science in Sarajevo.
