The Commandant of the Peace Support Operations Training Centre (PSOTC) of the Armed Forces of Bosnia and Herzegovina, Lieutenant Colonel Damir Alibasic, welcomed Lieutenant Colonel Marc Abendroth, the Defence Attaché of the Federal Republic of Germany to Bosnia and Herzegovina, for a meeting at Camp Butmir on 29 July 2025.
The meeting between Lieutenant Colonel Damir Alibasic and Lieutenant Colonel Marc Abendroth focused on strengthening bilateral cooperation and ongoing support. Key discussion points included opportunities for collaboration on UN training courses, with both parties exploring joint initiatives in delivering courses for UN Military Observers and UN Staff Officers, as well as cooperation with German police training centres on UN Police Officer courses. They committed to maintaining existing levels of cooperation while seeking innovative ways to further enhance partnerships. The Commandant also briefed Colonel Abendroth on potential professional development pathways for PSOTC instructors, particularly the possibility of participating in Train-the-Trainer courses at the German Armed Forces UN Training Centre in 2026 and 2027.
Overall, the visit underscored the strong partnership between PSOTC and German Armed Forces training institutions, highlighting their mutual dedication to advancing peace operations training.
