A ceremony of certificate handover was held at the PSOTC in Camp Butmir with the presence of more than sixty guests from different BiH institutions, EUFOR, NATO HQ Sa, NATO School, civilian and military representatives accredited in BiH, and the US Government representatives. On behalf of the US Government, the Director of the Office of Plans and Initiatives, Bureau of PMA, Mr. Michael L. Smith handed over the certificate to the Deputy Minister of Defense of BiH, Ms. Marina Pendeš. With this recognition, PSOTC is becoming the first center in Europe recognized by the US Government. As speakers mentioned in their speeches this is recognition of not only PSOTC, but also the Armed Forces of BiH as a credible partner in multinational environment who can offer first class training in PSO arena to the partners of Bosnia and Herzegovina. The US Government together with other partners has given its contribution to make the PSOTC successful story with clear intent to continue support in the future. The PSOTC of Bosnia and Herzegovina proudly emphasize the fact that the PSOTC has continuing development in partnership with key players in world arena. As first in Europe with this certificate, the PSOTC is becoming a landmark among organizations which are delivering PSO training and education. The PSOTC’s Full Training Capability recognizes the peacekeeping capacity building partnership efforts of Bosnia and Herzegovina under the auspices of the United States’ Global Peace Operations Initiative (GPOI). This achievement demonstrates Bosnia and Herzegovina’s strong commitment to global peace and security. Therefore, the PSOTC of Bosnia and Herzegovina has proud to emphasize the first ever certification one of European partners by the US Government and obligation to continue its development working together with partner countries.
