EU Common Security and Defense Policy Orientation Course Opening Ceremony

The EU Common Security and Defense Policy (CSDP) Orientation Course, a joint project between the Austrian National Defense Academy (NDA) and the Peace Support Operations Training Centre (PSOTC) under the auspices of the European Security and Defense College (ESDC) from Brussels, commenced on May 20 and will run until May 24, 2024, at the Hills Hotel.

The opening ceremony was augmented by the presence of the distinguished guests, the Deputy Commander of EUFOR Brigadier General Lorenzo Dal Maso, Austrian Defense Attaché Colonel Erich Simbürger, and PSOTC Commandant Colonel Elvedin Omić. The course has attracted 30 participants from 9 different countries, including 13 from Bosnia and Herzegovina and 17 from nine other countries. The aim of the CSDP Orientation Course is to provide participants with a comprehensive understanding of the CSDP. Participants are introduced to the CSDP's institutional framework, current policies, structures, and processes. Additionally, the course offers an opportunity to network with professionals working in the field of CSDP. The ultimate goal of the course is to support EU Member States and EU Institutions and Agencies by training personnel to work effectively in CSDP-related fields at both operational and strategic levels.
