Over the six-day course, participants were immersed in contemporary educational strategies that emphasized the application of facilitation techniques designed to foster critical thinking and promote dynamic interactions. The hands-on learning approach enabled students to practice these techniques in real-world educational contexts, facilitating engaging and effective learning experiences. Additionally, the course provided essential skills for engaging adult learners, managing syndicate discussions, and developing structured learning activities tailored to the specific needs of military education and training. This combination of strategies allowed participants to refine their teaching styles and adopt a learner-cantered approach.
The success of the DHET course is attributed to the dedication and expertise of the Course Directing Staff from the Defence Academy of the United Kingdom. Their commitment to knowledge sharing and creating an interactive learning environment left an enduring impact on the students. This initiative has significantly strengthened the instructional capabilities of students and contributed to the overarching goals of enhancing military education standards within AF BIH.
During the DHET Course closing ceremony, LTC Edward Taylor, the British Defence Attaché to Bosnia and Herzegovina, underscored the critical importance of investing in the future of both AF BIH and PSOTC. He remarked that the skills developed throughout the course are essential for cultivating effective military educators and instructors who can promote a culture of continuous improvement within AF BIH. LTC Taylor reaffirmed the United Kingdom's commitment to supporting the development of educational and training capabilities for AF BIH moving forward.
LTC Damir Alibasic, the Commandant of PSOTC, echoed LTC Taylor's sentiments, emphasizing the necessity of such investments to build a more capable and knowledgeable military force. He highlighted that training initiatives like this are pivotal to the modernisation and evolution of AF BIH and stressed the importance of continued collaboration between the Defence Academy of the United Kingdom and PSOTC. LTC Alibasic expressed his gratitude to the British Defence Attaché and the Defence Academy of the United Kingdom for their valuable support to AF BIH and PSOTC.
The positive impact of this training is expected to extend well beyond the classroom, shaping future generations of instructors within AF BIH and enhancing the overall quality of education and training in the Armed Forces of Bosnia and Herzegovina. This collaborative effort fostered closer relations between AF BIH and the Armed Forces of the United Kingdom, paving the way for future initiatives.
