The course is designed and delivered to assist trainers and leaders with the doctrine, mindset, and methodologies of full spectrum counterinsurgency operations prior pre-deployment training. The aim of the course is to introduce key leaders and trainers with concepts and the doctrine related to counterinsurgency operations in order to create a framework of understanding of the differences between counterinsurgency and conventional warfare and introduce COIN definitions and principles. Students on the Counterinsurgency Orientation Course are coming from: BiH, Albania, Austria, Georgia, Jordan, Macedonia, Turkey, UAE and Ukraine. In addition to instructors from PSOTC, instructors from Maryland National Guard, as a part of the AF BiH cooperation with Maryland National Guard achieved through the US Embassy Sarajevo, Office of Defense Cooperation together with Marshal Center from Garmisch-Partenkirchen and EUFOR, will support the course.
