Continued Cooperation between Ministry of Security of BiH and PSOTC

The Integrated UN Police and UN Military Observer Course as the joint project between Ministry of Security of BiH (MoS BiH) and PSOTC started today, 16th March 2015 at PSOTC.

The course is going to be conducted from 16th to 27th March 2015 with participation of 22 police officers from different countries and police agencies (15 from Bosnia and Herzegovina, 1 from Estonia, 1 from Croatia, 1 from Serbia, 1 from Montenegro, 1 from Macedonia and 1 from Ukraine), and 10 officers from AF BiH. Besides PSOTC staff, delivering of the course is supported by 5 instructors from the BiH police agencies and 3 international instructors (1 from Sweden, 1 from Croatia and 1 from Switzerland). On behalf of the PSOTC, LtC Hazim Hodzic, the Chief of Planning Section, and on behalf of MoS BiH, Ms. Ankica Tomić, the Head of International Cooperation Department, addressed participants on the opening ceremony. They emphasized importance of involvement of police and military observer’s structures within PSO as well as preparation of police officers and military personnel for PSO through education process. This course is generic police and military observer training course for PSO in order to prepare police officers and military observers for assignments in Integrated Peacekeeping Operations. The aim of the course is to prepare the participants for a UN Peacekeeping Operations so they can work effectively with outlined objectives of the United Nations Security Council Resolutions mandate in a Peacekeeping Operation.
