Today, 15th September 2017, after five days of lecturing 16 military members has successfully concluded the UN Tactical Protection of Civilians Course.

16 military
members (8 from Bosnia and Herzegovina, 1 from Albania, 1 from Georgia, 1 from
Serbia and 5 from the United Kingdom) were acknowledged by the course
certificates as a proof of their knowledge acquired for the last five days.
With this knowledge, they got basics in protections of civilians (POC) in
mission. The course by itself is the mean to increase awareness and provide a conceptual understanding of how to
integrate other agencies’ efforts regarding POC and Prevention of Sexual
Violence (PSV). Besides PSOTC staff led by LtC Josef Liebminger (AUT-A), special thanks in supporting PSOTC in
delivering this course go to external speakers: Inspector Maja Gačić, the
Republic of Srpska Ministry of the Interior, Ms. Lejla Mamut, the UN Woman –
office in BiH, SSG John
Paul Braithwaite, the
UK Armed Forces, and Ms. Ana Osborne and Mr.
Charles Fomunyam, UN Mission MINUSCA. The course was concluded by the closing
ceremony which was augmented by the presence of newly appointed the UK Defence
Attaché to Bosnia and Herzegovina LtC Jonathan Williamson.
