Closing Ceremony of the “UN Police Course (UNPOC)”

The PSOTC and the Ministry of Security of Bosnia and Herzegovina continue cooperation in delivering PSO training for the BiH police officers.

As a result of this cooperation, 30 participants from different security agencies from Bosnia and Herzegovina and 6 international participants (Albania, Montenegro, Serbia, Croatia, Estonia, and Macedonia) graduated from UN Police Officers’ Course 1/2014. The UNPOC 1/2014 was delivered from 17th to 28th February. The course was delivered by PSOTC’ Directing Staff, instructors from security agencies of Bosnia and Herzegovina and international instructors from Sweden and Croatia. The UNPOC is generic police training with the aim to prepare police officers for assignments in Integrated UN Peacekeeping Operations. At the closing ceremony, held at PSOTC on 28th February, the PSOTC Commandant and the Assistant Minister of Security Mr. Samir Rizvo, emphasized importance and the role of police component in UN Peacekeeping Operations. They also praised the participants for their commitments and desire to achieve desired standards on the course. Police Officer Božana Žižić was awarded as the best student on the UNPOC 1/2014. In order to mark a good cooperation between PSOTC and the Ministry of Security and its police agencies, the PSOTC Commandant presented a small token of appreciation to the Assistant Minister of Security, Mr. Samir Rizvo and the SSU Commander, Chief Inspector Mirsad Vilić.
