The Euro-Atlantic Security Course aimed to enhance participants' understanding of contemporary security challenges in the Euro-Atlantic region. By providing insights into the roles of NATO, the EU, and the OSCE, as well as guidance on cooperation and coordination, the course equips participants to address these challenges more effectively.
Over the past five days, 36 participants from Bosnia and Herzegovina, Albania, North Macedonia, Poland, Romania, Serbia, Sweden, Türkiye, the United Kingdom, and the United States have taken part in and completed this comprehensive course. Conducted in cooperation with the Faculty of Political Science, University of Sarajevo, the course also included contributions from partners such as the George C. Marshall European Center for Security Studies, the Geneva Center for Security Policy, the Austrian National Defence Academy, the Allied Command Transformation, the U.S. Embassy in Bosnia and Herzegovina, the OSCE Mission to Bosnia and Herzegovina, and the Faculty of Criminalistics, Criminology, and Security Studies University of Sarajevo.
During the closing ceremony, the participants were addressed by Colonel Dr. Jasmin Čajić, Deputy Commander of the Support Command of the Armed Forces of Bosnia and Herzegovina for Operations, and PSOTC Commandant, Lieutenant Colonel Damir Alibašić.
Lieutenant Colonel Alibašić expressed his confidence that the course would significantly benefit participants in their future endeavors, providing them with a thorough understanding of the geopolitical dynamics in the Euro-Atlantic region, focusing on key stakeholders, emerging threats, and contemporary security issues.
Colonel Cr. Čajić highlighted the diversity of course participants group, including senior military officers, civilian staff, and university postgraduate students, whose varied experiences enriched the course. He sincerely thanked key contributors, particularly international partners, for their invaluable support and cooperation, providing us with their valuable expertise and experience, and emphasized the importance of networking among the course participants.
The completion of this course signifies a step forward in fostering stronger cooperation, mutual understanding, and shared expertise among the armed forces, state institutions, education and training institutions from Bosnia and Herzegovina and partner countries, and international organizations. This collaboration contributes to overall stability and peace, and significantly enhances the image of PSOTC and the Armed Forces of Bosnia and Herzegovina
