The Peace Support Operations Training Centre (PSOTC) of the Armed Forces of Bosnia and Herzegovina (AF BIH) had the honour of hosting Colonel Erich Simbürger, the outgoing Defence Attaché of the Republic of Austria to Bosnia and Herzegovina, along with his successor, Colonel Christian Hahn, during an official visit on 10 July 2025.

The distinguished guests were warmly welcomed by Lieutenant Colonel Damir Alibašić, Commandant of PSOTC. The visit served as an opportunity to introduce Colonel Hahn to PSOTC's mission, activities, and plans, and to reaffirm the strong cooperation between the Centre and the Austrian defence community. During the briefing, Lieutenant Colonel Alibašić highlighted the importance of joint training projects conducted in collaboration with the Austrian National Defence Academy, as well as the exchange of instructors between PSOTC and the Austrian Armed Forces. These initiatives have significantly contributed to the professional development of personnel and the strengthening of regional and international military education standards.

On behalf of all PSOTC members, the Commandant expressed sincere gratitude to Colonel Simbürger for his outstanding support and contributions throughout his tenure in Bosnia and Herzegovina. He extended best wishes for Colonel Simbürger's future, both personally and professionally.

In his farewell remarks, Colonel Simbürger expressed his appreciation for the excellent cooperation with PSOTC and voiced his confidence that the partnership will continue to grow under the leadership of Colonel Hahn. He emphasised the shared commitment to peace, security, and professional military education.

This visit marks another milestone in the enduring relationship between PSOTC and AF BiH with the Austrian Defence Attaché's Office in Bosnia and Herzegovina, reinforcing the Centre's role as a hub for regional and international defence cooperation.
