PSOTC Delivers Media Management in PSO Basic Course

The Peace Support Operations Training Centre (PSOTC) of the Armed Forces of Bosnia and Herzegovina (AF BIH) concluded the Media Management in Peace Support Operations Basic Course (MMPSOBC) with a formal closing ceremony on 27 March 2026. The course was held in collaboration with the Faculty of Political Sciences at the University of Sarajevo and took place from 23 to 27 March 2026.

The aim of MMPSOBC is to provide students with essential knowledge about the opportunities and challenges linked to media presence in Peace Support Operations. Furthermore, the course provides an opportunity to develop vital skills for effectively utilising Public Affairs in dynamic operational contexts.

A total of 26 participants attended the course, representing AF BiH, NATO Headquarters Sarajevo, EUFOR, academic institutions from Bosnia and Herzegovina, and partner countries. Completion of this course marks a meaningful step toward strengthening cooperation, mutual understanding, and the exchange of expertise among armed forces, state institutions, educational and training facilities, partner nations, and international organizations.

During the course closing ceremony, attended by distinguished guests from the Faculty of Political Sciences of the University of Sarajevo and the Office of Defence Cooperation (ODC) of the U.S. Embassy in Bosnia and Herzegovina, PSOTC Commandant, Colonel Damir Alibasic, mentioned that one of the most significant advantages of MMPSOBC was the invaluable networking opportunity. Furthermore, he expressed sincere appreciation to PSOTC’s esteemed partner institutions and organizations for their support: the Faculty of Political Sciences of the University of Sarajevo as the co-organizer of the course, ODC of the U.S. Embassy in Bosnia and Herzegovina, the Public Affairs Regional Centre (PARC), NATO HQ Sarajevo and EUFOR.

During the closing ceremony, attended by representatives of the Faculty of Political Sciences of the University of Sarajevo and the Office of Defence Cooperation (ODC) of the U.S. Embassy in Bosnia and Herzegovina, PSOTC Commandant Colonel Damir Alibašić emphasised that one of the greatest advantages of the MMPSOBC is the invaluable networking opportunity it provides. He expressed sincere appreciation to PSOTC’s partner institutions and organisations for their continuous support: the Faculty of Political Sciences of the University of Sarajevo (co-organiser), the U.S. Embassy ODC, the Public Affairs Regional Centre (PARC), NATO HQ Sarajevo, and EUFOR.

Conducting MMPSOBC, PSOTC, AF BIH, and the Ministry of Defence of Bosnia and Herzegovina, with support from partners, contributes to Bosnia and Herzegovina's peace, stability, and security activities worldwide.
