The course brought together 27 participants from eight countries, including 19 from Bosnia and Herzegovina and 8 from partner nations, highlighting strong international cooperation and commitment to professional development.

Organized in cooperation with the Embassy of the Republic of Austria in Bosnia and Herzegovina and supported by the Geneva Centre for Security Policy (GCSP), the course aimed to prepare future defence attachés for work in complex security environments.

The course was opened by Colonel Damir Alibašić, Commandant of the Peace Support Operations Training Centre (PSOTC), and Lieutenant Colonel Jost Grob, Head of the Defence and Diplomacy Cluster at the Geneva Centre for Security Policy (GCSP), who, in their opening remarks, underscored the importance of active engagement, professional exchange, and participant motivation as key elements for a successful and impactful course.

Throughout the week, the course provided a comprehensive platform for the exchange of experience, practical insights, and best practices, reinforcing the importance of dialogue and cooperation in contemporary security environments.

At the closing ceremony, Brigadier General Edin Fako, Inspector General of the Ministry of Defence of Bosnia and Herzegovina, together with Colonel (GS Ret.) Dr Laurent Currit, representative of the GCSP, commended participants for their engagement and emphasised the important role of defence attachés in promoting cooperation, mutual understanding, and strong partnerships. They underlined the importance of continued collaboration with PSOTC and expressed confidence that this successful cooperation will further develop in the future.

PSOTC extends its appreciation to all partner institutions, including the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Bosnia and Herzegovina, U.S. Embassy and British Embassy in Bosnia and Herzegovina, Defence Attaché Association, the Faculty of Criminalistics, Criminology and Security Studies and the Faculty of Political Sciences of the University of Sarajevo, and the State Investigation and Protection Agency (SIPA)
