2. International Students
ADMINISTRATION FOR STUDENTS 1. Location. The PSOTC is located at Camp Butmir in Sarajevo (BiH), 2 kilometres south west of the International Airport – map. 2. Arrival. Students should make their own way to Sarajevo and arrive on the Sunday, not later than 1500 hrs prior to the start of the course. If the international students who are not able to arrive before 1500 hours on the Sunday, they can arrive to Sarajevo one day earlier. This has to be announced early enough in order to make all necessary accommodation arrangements. 2.1. Arrival by plane, train or bus. International students arriving by plane, bus or train may be picked up on request by PSOTC transport. Please be advised that PSOTC will not reimburse any other expanses use for transport to Camp Butmir (e.g. taxi, bus ticket, etc). 2.2. Arrival by personal vehicle. Students arriving by private vehicle or the public transportation system are requested for in processing reasons to report to the Camp Butmir main gate by 1500 hrs on the Sunday afternoon prior to the start of the course. Private vehicles are not allowed to access Camp Butmir and therefore have to be parked in the indicated car park located just outside the main entrance to Camp Butmir. Private vehicles are parked at all times at individuals’ own risk. 3. Accommodation. Accommodation will be reserved and allocated by the PSOTC. All students will be accommodated in Camp Butmir. Accommodation is compulsory for all students. 4. Medical Service. Medical service will be provided in Camp Butmir Medical station and civilian medical facilities in Sarajevo. Students are obliged to obtain medical insurance. 5. Language. Working language is English. No translation will be provided. All documents will be published in English. Students from outside the Balkans area are advised to bring their own dictionaries. Sufficient English/local language dictionaries are available on signature from the PSOTC library. 6. Dress and equipment. The students are expected to wear working combat style duty uniform during training. There will be no requirement for Class A or Class 1 style uniform. At other off duty times officers’ casual dress shall not include items of uniform and will be subdued in style. For the sport training the students will require basic sports outfit (trainers and track suite). 7. Social Events. In the second week of the course (26 August 2008), International Evening will be organized. Here, the students from each nation will have to represent their traditional customs and culture. You are most welcome to bring any appropriate food, drinks, music, brochures, traditional national clothing, etc. Optional recreational day trips will be organised and offered on several weekends for international students only. 8. Visa requests. Visa requests are a national responsibility and not that of the PSOTC. 9. Security. The students have to carry a valid passport, the number of which has to be the same as that provided to the PSOTC on the Personal Application Form. BiH students apply with CIPS ID. This is required for the issue of the access cards to Camp Butmir. 10. National Security Clearance. The students’ sending nations should obtain a valid Security Clearance for the students entering the PSO Junior Staff Course. A copy of this letter should be sent together with Personal Application Form and original is to be brought by student. This is important for regulating all entry procedures to NATO/EUFOR Camp Butmir. Also, a valid NATO Travel Order would be acceptable substitute. 11. Mail 12. Personal Applicationa Form 13. Point of Contact.
