The PSOTC’s Mobile Training Team (MTT) conducted one week training activity in 4th Infantry Brigade  in Čapljina  from 25 to 29 January 2010.

The training was focused on application of Counterinsurgency (COIN) principles in scenario based exercise: MAPEX “HEAT”.
The MAPEX is a lesson learned package collected by PSOTC staff members on operational tour in Afghanistan. Overall aim of the exercise was to support Military Decision Making Process (MDMP), staff training in COIN environment in order to:

• Provide conditions for brigade HQs AF BiH practicing MDMP in complex COIN environment,
• Increase interoperability level and gather new knowledge of NATO Doctrine,
• Prepare AF BiH members for possible engagement within ISAF mission in Afghanistan.   

On 28th January, Maj Blažeski member of the PSOTC Directing Staff from Macedonian AF, supported this training, conducting a lecture on Macedonian experience from Afghanistan. He also conducted media training for 4th Bde staff members with support of students of journalism  from Sarajevo and East Sarajevo universities.

The training of the  4th Infantry Brigade was an opportunity for the new MTT member Lt Col Klaus Seidel (GER AF) to check on  the  spot how our MTT operates. Newly appointed the  PSOTC Commandant ,Col Kenan Dautović (BiH AF), who also visited the 4th Infantry Brigade in the mentioned period, took the opportunity to convey the message to BiH AF that PSOTC will continue to conduct Bde training in this year in order to support their capacity development.

The training was also visited by Commander of the Operational Command Major General Anto Jeleč who expressed his appreciation for PSOTC’s efforts in AF BiH training.
