To provide students with a global perspective of the current international situation in the context of current and future PSO. LEARNING OBJECTIVES: Introduction into IR theory as well as to security policy. An introduction to political geography and global economics. Presentations of global key players/major powers (the USA; Russia; the EU; and China). Presentations of regions likely to be the most relevant playgrounds or global key players (Africa, the Caucasus and Central Asia, and the Middle East). Europe both historically and with respect to the emerging European Security Architecture. PARTICIPANTS:
Military and civilian staff, students from universities. IRC 1/10: Total 35 participants. 20 military and civilian staff (8 BiH; 2 per country: ALB; HRV; MKD; MNE; SVN;SRB). 15 students from universities. IRC 2/10: Total 16 participants. 1o BiH and 6 international (1 per country: ALB; HRV; MKD; MNE; SVN;SRB) REMARKS: All lectures are given by national and international lecturers of high academic qualification and practical experience. The course has been organized and is supervised by the PSOTC´s Academic Lecturer, Prof. Dr. Heinz Vetschera.
